Safe and sound environment for students

The village of Diarjan is located in a remote area of Gilan Province, northern Iran. The twenty students of the village school are unable to use the school yard for play or school activities due to it not being enclosed.  On one side the yard has a steep drop into a valley while the other side is a road.  In addition to these hazards, dogs and livestock are able to wander through the school yard posing safety and health risks for the students.  Approaches to the Iranian Education Authority have been unsuccessful in getting the yard secured by a fence or wall.
