Sausage Sizzle Event
Aussies love a BBQ, and by extension, a sausage sizzle! Charred snags with onion, wrapped inside a slice of bread with drippings of sauce.
Ready to go and delicious, yum! The old Sausage Sizzle offers punters the chance to quell the afternoon hunger pains and gives them the feeling they have helped the community in the process. Woolworths branch in Kew has provided a great opportunity for Yarra Foundation to raise fund for disadvantage children in need.
Thank to all kind people and Kew community for their support, we raised $485 in our first sausage sizzling event!

Chaharshanbe Suri
Chahārshanbeh Suri is an Iranian festival celebrated by all Persian people. The event takes place on the eve of the last Wednesday before the Iranian New Year. Loosely translated as "Wednesday fest" or Wednesday Light or Red Wednesday , from the word sur which means fest/light/red in Persian, or more plausibly, consider sur to be a variant of sorkh (red) and take it to refer either to the fire itself or to the ruddiness (sorkhi), meaning good health or ripeness, supposedly obtained by jumping over it, is an ancient Persian festival dating back to at least 1700 BCE of the early Zoroastrian era. Also called the Festival of Fire, it is a prelude to Nowruz, which marks the arrival of spring. This Year, Australian-Iranian Society of Victoria organised Chahārshanbeh Suri evet.It was a great fun and one of the volunteer did a face painting for kids. Thank you everyone who were involved.
