Campaign
School bus for 20 students in Kurdistan
Many children are out of school in Kurdistan’s remote villages due to the fact that there are no high schools in these villages. By the time children reach high-school age, they have to travel long-distances to attend school. Yarra has identified fourteen boys and six girls in very remote regions of the city of Baneh and Saghez (Kurdistan) who do not have access to high school in their villages. Boys have to travel 30 km to Saghez and girls have to travel 50 km to Baneh to attend school.
The schools are boarding schools and students need to commute once every week. A minibus is needed to take them to school on Saturdays and return them back to their villages on Wednesdays.
You can join us!
Yarra Sydney has launched a fundraising campaign to raise $2,340 to provide a school bus for all twenty students. Without the transportation, these students would not be able to go to school. So, we urge Iranian community in Sydney to join us in this campaign and help these children today to change their future.
Project cost: $2,340 for the entire school year.
